dr hab. Jakub Piwowarski

A young and very active researcher. He received his doctoral degree in 2015 and his habilitation in 2017. Author of more than 40 scientific papers in the field of natural drug research and human gut microbiota. He has led projects funded by the National Science Center, the National Center for Research and Development and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.

In 2015 he was awarded the Foundation for Polish Science in the START program and in 2016 he was awarded the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation scholarship and in 2017-2019 he did a 2-year post-doc internship at renowned research centers in Berlin (Institute of Pharmacy and Institute of Animal Nutrition Freie Universitat Berlin). In 2019, he was awarded a scholarship of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education for outstanding young scientists. As part of his scientific activities, he has completed a number of internships and visits abroad in Germany, the UK, Austria and Ukraine, among others. His scientific interests include the study of human and animal intestinal microbiota and biological activity of compounds of natural origin.
